Aug 10: My fourth impressions of Everquest: June 1, 2004

1) Someone finally kill steal on me... I was trashing a giant rat, someone rushed over took the final damage and then took off, after taking any drops it had.

2) Someone, I have the character name, did a /con on one of my characters, and tried to slip a trade in on me. Which would have consisted of everything in my backpack and nothing in return. Without me noticing, but I did notice. Cancelled it. Then they moved their character elsewhere. Probably going to attempt the same scheme on some other victim. Probably got a cheap thrill out of it... Yes, I have a screen dump.

3) Other than those complaints, I'm enjoying this time consuming game so far. No, its not addictive. The quests are designed to take hours and days of game play to resolve.

4) I know many of the Everquest personal sites have a heavy bandwidth usage going on... but I really do hate popups, and I don't have the money to spare to become a 'premium member'. Of course, some of those apparently haven't seen an update in months, some of them since the year 2000. So, I wont get a 'premium member' login, because how am I going to know, until I spend money, that the premium section has been updated ? I could email them, but I decided not to. The site looks like it really hasn't been updated in months. Or in some cases, no updates in over 2 years. So the email is probably not being checked or its broken.

No, I'm not always grouchy...

5) I would love to be able to zooom up further, so I can actually watch for monsters trying to sneak up on my character. As it is, the zoom up doesn't give enough of a view around a character. Indoors the camera hits the ceiling. Great view of the top of the character's head, but not much of the surroundings. Caverns will likely let you zoom higher.
