Some bold adventurers,
three or maybe it was four,
decided to wander out of town,
and find some monsters, pwn them and take their gold.
They set out,
on a clear day,
they could see forever,
which is really a long way.
Off yonder to the mountains,
they did go.
On again on again,
towards the Deep Darkness,
that showed as the setting Sun,
did drape shadows about the lands.
Set up a camp site,
yes they did.
Then to discover,
none had brought a way to cook their food,
nor light their way.
No lanterns did they have,
no torches galore,
nor glowing swords,
no Light spells memorized,
alas alack.
No way to see in the dark either,
they were all humans,
and were not prepared.
They hoped the moon would rise,
and light up the landscape,
but it did lightning and rain instead.
Even the rabbits grew bold,
and chomped at their boot heels.
ouch.
They decided to make themselves,
a moving target.
And wandered about,
in the Deep Dark,
a way out yonder.
Alas, they had a bad map,
it did not show the cliff,
nor the deep valley beside it.
The lightning had abated.
They went
yeeeeooowww!
[thud]
and ouch they did go,
until a voice so deep,
it sounded like a mountain talked...
did ask,"Are you food ?"
lettuce draw the curtain over this episode,
for they didn't come back to town,
nevermore.

08/08: poem: Stars above Norrath
June 20, 2004: poem: Stars above Norrath

The stars above Norrath,
are far far away,
at least,
those that have tried to teleport there,
have not arrived back here.
We bold five,
have stormed castles,
and braved the sand giants,
traveling by foot,
sometimes aboard a sailing ship.
To lands we go,
to lands we went,
but they are no longer here,
to travel with me.
Could they be on Luclin ?
I have travelled there,
and found them not,
but The Bazaar has many peoples in it,
I could have missed them,
on that far shore.
I looked for them in Qeynos,
they were not in Butcherblock,
even in the dimness,
under the trees in Faydark.
I have been unable to find them anywhere.
The stars shine down on the lands,
and the oceans,
and the people there.
But my friends are gone.
I hope they are well,
they are my friends,
but alas, I think they are no more.
